Thank You, Jesus! Thank You for this day! Thank You for the work You are doing in my life and the lives of all around me. Amazingly, You have answered my prayers by giving me eyes to see and ears to hear, thank You for making me aware of Your presence in my life. Thank You for answering my prayer of asking for You to reveal Yourself to me, not as my current understanding of You, but as You want to reveal Yourself to me and that I will be open to what You show me. I am thankful that You are with me every step of the way. I thank You for giving me the right words to convey my thoughts and not to lead any person away from who You truly are. Thank You, Jesus! Praise You, Lord! Bless You, Lord! Thank You! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I believe that the secrets of this world are available to us but they are hidden where many (including me before my early 20s) do not look, I believe that the secrets are hidden in books. I recently finished THE CASE FOR THE REAL JESUS by Lee Strobel, then read and finished THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS by C.S. Lewis. Now, I’m listening to CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD by Neal Donald Walsch and reading THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, among many others that I’m in the middle of. I just started a small group study of BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND by Joyce Meyers and I’m excited to start a couples study with our friends on the book MERE CHRISTIANITY by C.S. Lewis. I don’t tell you this to say “look at what I’m doing!” I only share this because I thought that I hated reading. When I graduated high school I swore to myself that I would never pick up a book again, I would just watch movies. Well, long story short I met a man who became one of my mentors in a direct sales company I was involved in. This man suggested that I read a book by Robert Kiyosaki and I explained to him that I wasn’t going to do that, he asked if I couldn’t read or just don’t read, when I explained the oath I swore to myself he then asked me a question that burned inside of me. “How’s that working for you?” So, I started reading and gained a love for reading, joined a book of the month club, and over several years I started getting burned out until recently when I was stirred from my slumber and stopped sleepwalking through life. Now, I’m reading through the Bible and many other books that challenge me. I read books that challenge my idea and cause thought. It’s not easy to do this type of thinking and at times it can be exhausting, which I can imagine is why many don’t do this. I now pray before I start reading anything, I ask that Jesus teaches me what it is that He wants me to know at this time in my life and that I will be open to receiving the information that I am given. I ask that He leads, guides, and directs me to the information that He wants to be revealed to me at this time. A lot of people that I meet have been burned by religion so I have to meet them and accept them for who they are and where they are at. Reading books on all different subjects has allowed me to have conversations with people that I never would have had the confidence to have before. Now, I ask Jesus to give me the information to share with these people to expose them to the truth while loving them where they are at to keep the walls of defense low. I truly believe that if I can keep someone from getting defensive and make them feel like I’m condemning or judging them, this allows me to get out of the way. With me out of the way, the Holy Spirit can work in them as I speak to them. I do believe that this is a vital understanding of becoming a secret agent for the Kingdom of Heaven. I hope and pray that if you’re on the fence about joining God’s army you will learn to love and accept all people for who they are and where they are. We have no idea what these people have been through that has molded them to become who they are. How we see them may not be who they really are. I believe we all wear masks to try and protect ourselves, I know that I certainly did. Love conquers all, I believe that. Love all, and let’s continue to destroy the kingdom of satan brick by brick. -A fellow warrior in God’s army
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.” -1 Corinthians 13:1-3 ESV
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. -The Lord’s prayer
