Monday 3/28/22 – Degrees

Good afternoon God, thank You for this day. Another beautiful day here in sunny Southwest Florida. Thank You Lord, praise You Lord, bless You Lord! Lord Jesus, I claim the power of the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven that you gave to your disciples, that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and that whatever we loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven. I ask that You continue to teach me what it is that You want me to know, understand and comprehend at this time in my life and that I would be open to receiving it, regardless of the cost. I ask that You are with me as I share what I believe You have placed on my heart to share today. I ask all these things in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I was chatting with my Atheist friend recently and realized how truly small minded I can be and how I’ve been programmed to think certain things based on words that are used. I assumed that when he stated that he is an Atheist that he didn’t believe there is a God. He has even said things along the way that didn’t fully make sense so I just lumped what he said in with my understanding of an Atheist’s worldview. The subject came up again in our recent conversation that he has never said that there isn’t a God but that there isn’t sufficient evidence for him to currently believe there is one. I needed to look this up so I started doing some basic research and came to the realization that there are varying degrees of Atheism; weak, skeptical and strong to name a few of the ones that I came across in a very basic search. After thinking more about it I realized the word Christian also has varying degrees associated with it. One can be a Pharisee or a religious leader and call themself a Christian, one can go to church, read the Bible and pray whenever it suits them or one can become a disciple of Jesus and through that process learn what the truth really is and become a secret agent of Heaven to reveal truth in their own life and others that are placed in their path and allow the truth to convict ourselves and others. We can share the truth and allow the Spirit of truth to convict rather than the judgement of others. There is only one judge and I am not Him. There has been so much truth that has been revealed to me through reading His Word over the last 1 1/2 years or so and whenever I address the lies in my life head on (regardless of the cost) in the process, as He has promised in His Word, the truth is setting me free. I am experiencing so much freedom in my life and I still feel like I’ve only just begun. I want to become that secret agent of Heaven. I want to look like a “church” Christian, one who warms a pew or a seat once a week but to expose myself to so much truth that I can not help but share truth with others to help show them how they too can be set free. I do not think that most people in the world today even consider what a modern day disciple would look like because most only know what a “church” Christian looks like from their experiences. A “church” Christian is who I used to be, one who believes in God but isn’t ready to give up control for fear of what God will do with their life and how uncomfortable it may be. I believe, based on scripture and my experience, giving up full control to Him is the only way to experience the freedom that God intended for us to have. Maybe you already are a disciple of Jesus and are in the process of becoming or have become that secret agent of Heaven. If you are a secret agent being used to build God’s army, I want what you have. I was ok with being a soldier in God’s army until I learned that I could be a secret agent to help recruit others to be in God’s army. I hope and pray that those who read this will join God’s army if you haven’t already, in whatever way you feel you can at this time in your life. -A fellow warrior in God’s army

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” -John 15:7 ESV

Our Father, who art in Heaven. Hallowed by Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen. -The Lord’s prayer

I'm learning how to follow after Jesus and what that looks like. I believe that I have the ultimate teacher leading me through this journey.
