Jesus, thank You for this day! Thank You for all of the blessings You continuously pour out on my family and me. Thank You for everything that I believe You are leading me to, showing me, and helping me understand. I pray that if anyone is seeking You, if my online journal describing my journey with You can help them in any way, that You will lead them here. I pray for all of those whom I know and pray for daily. I also pray for all of those whom you know and I have yet to meet. I ask that You wrap Your hedge of protection around them, remove, destroy, and obliterate the enemy of their soul. Place Your angels all around them to minister to, and heal any physical afflictions as well as their soul as they come to know You. I ask on their behalf that You give them eyes to see and ears to hear until they understand to ask for these things on their own. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. I ask that every person that is seeking You, would come to know Your love. Thank You, Jesus! Bless You, Jesus! Praise You, Lord Jesus! All of these things I ask in Your Name, according to Your Word, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13 ESV). Amen.
Believe it or not, I’ve been doing more reading. Something was revealed to me that made me uncomfortable at first, but the more I meditate on it, think about it, and pray about it, the more it is beginning to make sense. I was watching a video that was discussing symbolism in writing and one of the things mentioned was water and wine and their meanings. Water to those that understand these meanings has to do with the masses, the “uninitiated,” and wine to those that have been “initiated.” This video went on to discuss how the symbolism applied to the Bible and in particular, Jesus’ first documented miracle where He turned water into wine. This, of course, engaged my thinking, and before I knew it, I had written the following; What would you say if I told you that being a follower of Jesus is like being in a secret society, open to all that believe? The Holy Spirit invites each and every person in a way that is unique to them. Whether the person accepts the invite or not is where free will comes into play. If they decline the invite, they may never know what they have missed out on, because they cannot comprehend the freedom that a relationship with Jesus offers. If they accept the invitation and find some way to surrender, and along the way ask Jesus for their eyes and ears to be opened, they continue the initiation process. After I wrote this, I just stared at it, and was uncomfortable that I would even put Jesus and secret society in the same sentence. However, I’m learning that everything in this world is only a shadow of God’s Kingdom, and the enemy likes to take something pure and pervert it to keep us from finding the truth, while we’re here on earth. Given my very limited knowledge on secret societies, it appears to me that the Kindgom of Heaven was the original and pure secret society, and the Holy Spirit is the one that invites each and every one of us into the Kingdom of Heaven. I’ve also been reading more of MERE CHRISTIANITY by C.S. Lewis and found today’s reading to go along with this theory. Lewis says that we, as human beings do not know how “bad” we are until we really try to be “good.” This has been true in my personal journey, once I realized I was participating in a sin that I no longer wanted in my life, I tried and tried on my own to remove it from my life, I asked for God’s help, but looking back I was continuing to try and remove this particular sin in my life on my own. It was only after I surrendered, and said a prayer something along the lines of I can not do this on my own, I’m no longer asking for Your help, I just need this to be removed from life. That is the time in my life that I can point to when the Holy Spirit must have said something like, “finally.” I say that only semi-jokingly as I believe that He knew what it was going to take all along, but finally I was beginning to understand what a relationship with God meant for my life. I hope that anything I’ve shared today does not hinder your journey, but only helps accelerate your personal journey. I only share this online journal in love. I am thankful for all the material that I’ve been led to already, and I think that if I had run across someone else’s journey online, something similar to my online journal, something like this would have been helpful for me to continue to process my own. -A humble warrior in God’s army
And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, so that “‘they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.’” -Mark 4:10-12 ESV
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever, Amen. -The Lord’s prayer
