Monday 11/29/21 – The War

Dear Lord, thank You for this day! Thank You for the rest You provided me last night and for waking me up with breath in my lungs this morning. Thank You for our time together throughout the day from verse of the day, devotional time and studying Your Word with my wife this morning, all before getting out of bed. The day continued with a walk with my dog and prayer and now I’ve just returned from a walk on our nature trail, picking up trash, meditating and enjoying the beauty and complexity of Your creation. Thank You for all of this time together, for working on me, helping me become who it is that You want me to be, who You created me to be. I ask that You help me focus in on one of the many subjects going through my head and me develop it into a post that glorifies You Lord. Thank You Lord, praise You Lord, bless You Lord! In Your holy, mighty and precious Name, Amen.

A lot has happened since my last post. This journey, by far is one of the wildest and craziest things I’ve experienced so far in my life, and I’ve hitchhiked in Mexico at least 3 times that I can remember and I was in a bus, again in Mexico, that started to slide down the side of a very steep hill (long story, for another time, maybe). The “coincidences” I experience from seeing sequences of numbers to the conversations I have to the material I feel that I’m being led to whether it be books, movies, you tube videos, etc are to me, incredible. It’s all over the board bur I’ll start with a brief story of a co-worker that has quit multiple times since I’ve been working with him but he’s always come back and we’ve built a relationship over the years and we’ve talked about God many times. This past week, he just happens to find a Bible at work in one of the most unlikely places and judging on the dust on the book it had been there awhile but he was the only one that could see this book on a shelf outside of his window, you wouldn’t have been able to see it from any other vantage point. Coincidence? He doesn’t think so, he felt like he was supposed to take it home and start reading it. I pointed him to Ephesians 6:10-18, suggested him highlighting that and going over it multiple times as this man has many people throughout his life that he feels he’s fighting against. The type of fighting he’s doing is a losing battle as most believers know, if you’re trying to fight with the flesh you’re going to lose every time (even when you think you’ve won). Another co-worker has gone through some very dark times and mentioned to me that he was positive he was going to hell when he died because of things that he’s done in his life. My reply was simple, have you killed any Christians? And I get the same kind of blank stare each time I use this reply. This reply is something that I’ve now used multiple times to let people know about a guy named Saul that God used to share the Gospel and write a significant portion of the new testament. So, if you haven’t killed any Christians, you’re doing better than Saul and look what God did and how He used this man that was persecuting Christians. The enemy grabs us when we’re young and through programming from all types of outlets he instills limiting beliefs into each and everyone of us. If you are one of the many that are waking up and being freed from the spell of the enemy, it is ok to rejoice in your freedom for a moment but I believe it is now our job to join God’s army and help plant seeds. These seeds will be used to free those around us in our part of the world that may or may not even know they are being held captive by their own limiting beliefs. This isn’t the time to beat people upside the head with the Bible, this is the time to show people love that most have never experienced. Accepting those around you for who they are but at the same time getting them to think. Most of us have been taught through a system that teaches us what to think, not how to think and how to think critically. There are people out there that have heard about God but have no idea what He has to offer them. I believe it is our job to reach out in love, accept them where they are at but also ask questions to get them to better understand why they believe what they believe. This may be a good time to add that you should probably do some studying on your own to better understand why you believe what you believe, not just because someone told you it was the right way to believe. I hope if you haven’t already, that you join God’s army and soon. We are in a war that most do not see or can not see but make no mistake about it, it is a war. -A humble warrior in God’s army

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17 ESV

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever, Amen. -The Lords prayer

I'm learning how to follow after Jesus and what that looks like. I believe that I have the ultimate teacher leading me through this journey.
