“In the beginning, God…” According to the belief of the Christian religion this is how it all began. Adam and Eve were able to walk and talk with the Lord, our God. This was their “normal,” God was a friend. Did Adam and Eve know that God wanted them to worship and praise Him? I believe that God wanted them to find that out on their own and that’s where free will comes in. Like Adam and Eve, we are given the choice to praise and worship God everyday, whether we choose to do so or not is up to us. Unlike Adam and Eve, before the fall, we know and have experienced life without God walking and talking with us like a friend. What would it take to get back to the beginning? Do you believe that God wants to walk and talk with you, throughout your life? I believe that He does. I always thought that God was just up in the sky, keeping watch over us and while He could be in the same room with me if He wanted to be (which scared me because of the way I was living my life), most of the time He wasn’t because He had more important things to do, or at least that’s what I hoped. I have come to find out through reading His Word that He is always with us. I believe that God dwells inside of us whether we acknowledge Him or not. God does not force Himself into our life, He does not force us to understand that He is with us at all times but again, I have come to find out that there is nowhere we can run to or hide to get away from God. So, I ask the question again: What would it take to get back to the beginning? A world without sin? Maybe, but how can we make our way back to the beginning in this world that is full of sin? Will He make us sinless, completely without sin? We are human, we are not perfect and while we’re here on earth I don’t believe that sin is going away any time soon. Can we submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and cause him to flee? I do believe in the promise of God that this is something we can do. If we follow this path, will it cause us to sin less? I do believe so. I believe that God wants to have a supernatural relationship with each of everyone of His children and that is the reason He created us. I also believe that while it may look supernatural, it was super natural in the beginning. This way of living only appears to be foreign to us because of the illusion that we’ve come to know as reality. The illusion of the Hollywood style production that the enemy puts on for us makes walking and talking with God appear unnatural. I pray for each and everyone of you everyday. I may not know you but our Lord, Jesus Christ knows each and everyone of you by name. I believe that He calls each and everyone of us but we have to be silent enough, long enough to hear His still and small voice. Will you ask for eyes to see and ears to hear Him? If You have, you probably better understand the thoughts I have. If you haven’t… A bumper sticker I recently noticed comes to mind “Try Jesus, if you don’t like Him, the devil will always take you back.” I pray that your eyes and ears will be opened and that you will join us in this fight, going up against the kingdom of satan with Holy Spirit leading the charge. -A humble warrior in God’s army
“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.” -Romans 1:28 ESV
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen. – The Lords prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for this day, thank You for all of the blessings You’ve given us Lord. Thank You for all of the ways that You have provided and continue to provide for us. Thank You for helping me to think and process deeper than I ever have before. Thank You for this journey. Thank You for my new life. Thank You for adopting me into Your Kingdom, here on earth. Thank You that I think and act differently than I used to. Thank You for showing me how important You are in my life. Thank You for showing me that I will only get from You what I am willing to give to You. While I was attending church once a week, I felt that I was doing my part as a Christian and learning more about You. However, I have now immersed myself in Your Word, whether it is through devotions, a Bible study or reading Your Word with the Holy Spirit leading, guiding and directing me. You have filled me. By feeding the Spirit of Truth that dwells inside of me and inside each and everyone of us, You have given me so much and while at times it feels overwhelming, Your love overwhelms me as well! Lord, I ask that You lead, guide and direct me to think clearly and to properly convey my thoughts in this post. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
