Thank You Lord for yet another beautiful day, here in Southwest Florida. I love it here! Thank You for giving me the courage to go against everything inside of me and make a change that has benefited my immediate family more than I will probably ever understand until I get to come and be with You, Lord. Not only my immediate family but my extended family as more and more family members are finding the courage to reach out beyond their comfort zone and relocate for better all-around opportunities. Never did I imagine that the ones that have made the move to be here, in the same area of the world with us, would have ever made the move and that we would all live in the same state. Not to mention that it’s not only the same state but within 30-60 minutes of each other and while that may have seemed like an extended drive from where I came from in Michigan, it is just a normal everyday distance as I drive 45 minutes on average one way to/from work. This may not seem like much to you as your commute may include a train ride or a ferry or some other form of transportation that may double or more than double my commute but I come from a 15 min drive to/from work when I was living in MI. All of that to say that our relationships with our parents, who (lucky for us) are still with us on this earth, has blossomed into a beauty that we could have never asked for because we didn’t even know what was possible. It is amazing to see what God is doing in all of our lives, whether we see it or not God is always working. Test this theory, look back through your life, look at the thin strands that have created relationships in your life that are invaluable, look at all of the “coincidences” that have lined up in your life. In our house, I’ve been known to say “for whatever reason” and we now know that is code for “the Holy Spirit working.” My wife has grown to call “coincidences” something else, “God winks.” Thank You Lord Jesus for working in our lives and allowing us to see some of Your handy work. We were able to have both mine and Lindsey’s mom over for a wonderful day of honoring them and also I had many opportunities to honor all three of them (both of our moms and my wife, a mother herself) and I hope and pray that I did what the Holy Spirit called me to do, I hope that I understood what He was trying to tell me. The relationship between our parents is something that has blossomed beyond beauty. It was heart warming to hear our parents chat together and I don’t believe it was just surface level conversations. We were able to speak about God and the things He is doing in our lives, many times. While it was Mother’s day, I was so blessed by our time together today and I hope that our moms came away with at least a fraction of the blessing I felt that I received today. -A humble warrior in God’s army
“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Ephesians 6:2-3 ESV
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen -The Lords prayer
Thank You Lord, praise You Lord, bless You Lord. Thank you for coming alongside me and giving me the subject matter to share here in my public journal. Thank You Lord Jesus.
