Wednesday 4/28/21 – Good Morning God

Good morning God. You are teaching me so many things and while I could feel overwhelmed and sometimes I do, it causes me to lean in harder on You. I can not do anything alone. Ok, so that statement isn’t bleeding with truth. I can do a lot, I can do a lot without You or so I thought but it is not nearly as good, amazing and as beautiful as when I do ANYTHING with Your guidance and direction. When I open my heart and open my mind to the possibility that just because I’ve been doing something a certain way and it’s been “working” that maybe that’s not the best way. Let’s take a brief look at one very real example. I have a friend named Michael and we’ve recently been growing closer to God individually and then together as well as we share with each other what it is that we’ve been learning. We are supposed to helping to lead a small group this evening. The small group theme is Experiencing the presence of God. Michael and I got together last night at a Starbucks, of all places, and started going through the material and what we felt like it was speaking into us. We got away from the material several times and got lost in conversation from time to time. Michael shared with me his secret of waking up in the morning, which is something I normally struggle with. Michael said he tries to drink a cup of water or so at night, right before bed and then has a Yeti with ice water ready to go on his night stand so that when he wakes up in the morning, he drinks that full Yeti and it wakes him up. I told him that it sounded simple enough and that I’d try it, he goes to bed around 9:30 pm which I wasn’t quite ready for yet but I headed to my bedroom around 9:30 pm. I drank the cup of water before bed and had some of the best sleep I’ve had, that I can remember. I woke up slowly before my alarm clocks (yes, 3 separate alarms are set because I don’t trust myself). I drank my Yeti of ice water and here I am listening to the coffee percolate and it recently finished so I shall end here and get ready for work today. Thank You Heavenly Father, bless You Lord Jesus, praise You Lord Jesus! God, You are so good. Thank You for all the amazing wonders You are showing me and how You are teaching me. You are Awesome! Your ways are not our ways, You are amazing and often times we forget that we can not fully understand You. You are God and we are not but You show us just enough of who You are exactly when we need it Father God. Thank You for not only placing this idea of writing in me but I believe You are coming alongside of me and helping me to share what You want me to share. Pour me out Lord, pour into me, I want more of You God. I feel like You’ve placed a huge responsibility on me and that this requires me to lean harder on You than I ever have. I surrender all Lord, show me my blind spots, the areas where I haven’t given up control yet. Thank You Lord, bless You Lord, praise You Lord. Amen.
